Grace, Mercy, and Peace to you from our Resurrected Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Opening Prayer:

Dear Jesus, thank you for sharing with us the gifting of the Holy Spirit. Please be with those of us who gather together today, whether remotely or with friends; continue to be with our family who need to stay home to be safe - please send your grace to all who gather in your name, be it in person or virtually. Amen.

Songs:

Days of Elijah

At Your Name

Children's Song:

He's Got the Whole World in His Hands

Prayer of Confession / Assurance / Prayers of the People:

Dear Jesus, today we celebrate the blessing of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Yet, Lord, we confess that we frequently fail to seek out or listen to the Spirit and what you may be saying to us through the world around our ears. Please, turn us around and teach us to listen for the guiding voice of our Lord

We ask continued blessing on everyone affected by Coronavirus, here and abroad as numbers climb every day. But today, we especially ask for your grace and peace to descend on cities all around our country as we grieve the latest public victim of centuries of systemic racism. Be with those in power on all sides, let wisdom and understanding prevail that hundreds of years of wrong may begin to be made right. Teach us how to speak truth into the power of evil when we face it, that we may not be found guilty through complacency.

And finally, please be with everyone who finds themselves lonely, sick, sad, or afraid - be with them and give to each what it is that you know that they need.

This we pray to you our Lord, in the name of your victorious Son Jesus Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Amen

Closing:

Dear Lord, thank you for being the one who reigns over this world with love and mercy and justice. Jesus, please continue to teach us and lead us into our roles as your witnesses to your life and message in this world. Send to us anew the Holy Spirit and help us to live out the values of your kingdom at home and everywhere we go. To you be the glory and honor forever.

Amen.
