Prayer of Confession / Assurance / Prayers of the People:

Dear Lord Jesus, thank you so much for taking care of us in this time of pandemics and political unrest. We confess that we often fail to treat one another with respect or love, that we have forgotten that you loved us even when we were enemies, and that you call us to do the same. Please, Lord, help us to love like we do, help us to love one another as your Word tells us to.

We pray that you be with our world, be with the Midwest victims of the the straight line winds that leveled towns in Iowa, be with the residents of southern California as the wrestle with over 300 different fires, and give protection to the residents of Grand Junction as the Pine Creek fire continues to expand towards town. Especially, we pray, protect all of the fire fighters and first responders working out there in the record breaking heat of this August.

We also pray for members of our family…

Be with all those who are sick, sad, lonely, or afraid - give them your grace and let them feel your presence beside them.

This we pray in the name of Lord and Savior, victorious Lamb of God, who comes to make all things new. Amen.
